Ford Employee Discount Family Plan Ford's Latest Promotion

Ford Motor company hoping to clear dealer lots of growing numbers of unsold models, is trying yet another tactic to drum up sales. The Tactic is Employee Discount plan. Ford employee Discount plan has been copied from its competitor GM which saw great success in posting the best sales month in 19 years.

Ford Motor Company announced on July 6 that all buyers of eligible 2005 Ford Models will the same discount that employees get, giving consumers nationwide thousands of dollars off the price of every 2005 car or truck except the Ford Mustang, Ford Escape Hybrid and F-350. The employee discount varies by model.

The new program Ford Employee discount plan, unveiled publicly on July 6 could help trim high inventories of cars and trucks. That particularly means full-size pickups and sport utility vehicles, sales of which have suffered due to record high gasoline prices. One reason Ford may be anxious to move out the older trucks is to make room for a new generation of 2006 large pickups and SUVs expected to hit dealerships early next year. Beginning July 6, participating dealers will receive new window stickers for all 2005 models outlining the MSRP, the Ford employee discount and applicable cash rebates. For example:

Model Ford Explorer Mercury Montego Lincoln Navigator
XLT 4x4 Luxury AWD Luxury 4x2
MSRP $32,895 $26,840 $51,145
Employee Price $28,739 $24,019 $44,133
Less Customer Cash $4,000 $500 $2,000
Ford Family Price $24,739 $23,519 $42,133
The big benefits to consumers are a great deal that's easy to understand and eliminates haggling, which is a huge plus for many people.

Under the Ford employee discount plan, customers will be offered reduced prices and cash rebates. For example, the XLT version of the Ford Escape sport-utility vehicle will have a discounted price of $23,335 compared with the normal $26,070. Customers will be offered an additional $2,000 off, putting their final cost at $21,335.
The program doesn't apply to Ford Mustang and GT cars and the hybrid gasoline- electric Escape SUV. Ford's Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover and Aston Martin brands also aren't covered.
